This morning, the water main running under the Memorial Options Center burst, and later it was found to have collapsed in sections. The burst and collapsed pipe flooded the crawl space and resulted in the loss of the water supply at Memorial. The water in the crawl space is being pumped out to give the plumbers more access to assess the damage. Initially, the contractors informed the district that water would be back on by noon. However, after that projected time passed, the crew found that the damage was far more extensive than originally anticipated. Drinking water was supplied, and the building custodian manually flushed toilets throughout the day. Crews will return tomorrow to reassess the damages and begin to make repairs to the lines. The Memorial Options Center will be closed on Friday, March 3rd.
