Some pictures of today's parade around the school before the classroom parties. Lots of SMILES!
If you would like to DONATE your child's costume for next year's kids, please send it in with them tomorrow after trick or treating tonight.
We are creating a costume closet for next year's kids. :)
#TEAMWORK

This week in science our 5th graders had the opportunity this week to zoom with 2 letters to a precientist stem penpals.
Students learned about each penpal’s education and training path as well as their career. Then students were able to ask questions further deepen their understanding of what the professionals do in their career.
We are always trying to connect what we learn in the classroom with future careers here at Chardon Hills.

More Halloween pictures by our staff.
Lots of FUN today. :)👻🎃🐆

It's not all about the X's and O's...
Yes we are here for ELA, MATH, SOCIAL STUDIES and SCIENCE but we are also here for the KIDS and creating a fun environment that they will remember when they are older!
Love the effort out of our staff going the EXTRA MILE for the kids!
Prime example about CULTURE and CLIMATE.
We hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! 🎃 👻

Thank you to all our parents/guardians for coming to conferences tonight.
We had such a great turnout.
We appreciate the partnerships we have with our families and their child's educational experience!
It was a great evening to be a 🐆.

Today we had our RED RIBBON WEEK assembly where we had officer George
Panagiotou from the Euclid Police Dept.
He spoke to our students about the dangers of using drugs. He gave plenty of scenarios for our Panthers to think about.
Students had some great questions for our guest speaker.
Our kids behaved very well. We had the entire school in the gym. This was our first WHOLE SCHOOL assembly. We appreciate the staff monitoring our kids as well.
Overall it was a great informative experience for all those involved.
Go Panthers!

In our faculty meeting today we started using "Branching Minds", a platform to collect data including academics, attendance and behavior. We will use this information to make informed decisions so that every child is successful.

Data talks begin today with our teachers, curriculum coach, literacy leads, intervention specialists and administration.
We are always looking at data to MOVE our children forward.

Love seeing our kids MOVING so much in PE.
Creative fun and movement with a Halloween Obstacle Course.
Lots of set up but so worth it for the smiles and movement!
Way to go Strempel! 🎃👻🏃🏃♀️💨👟🐆

In 5th grade science, students have been using their engineering and math skills while learning about ecosystems.
After learning about different ways that human activity can impact the organisms that live an ecosystem, specifically from oil spills, students put their engineering skills to use. Our students tested out a number of materials and tools that could be used to remove an oil spill to determine which ones were most effective.
After evaluating the effectiveness, students collaborated to develop and design their own method to remove an oil spill from a model ecosystem, using the materials and tools of their choosing.
To determine the success of their design process, students used grid paper and then calculated the fraction, decimal, and percent of their model ecosystem that still had oil remaining in it.
This is STEM learning in action at Chardon Hills!”
