At Euclid High School, student leadership was front and center during the exciting Spring Pep Rally held on Friday, April 25, 2025. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Euclid High School Student Council, the First Ring Leadership Team, and their dedicated advisors, the event was a true celebration of Panther pride — and student voice.
This year’s Pep Rally was not just about school spirit — it was a reflection of student input in action. In the weeks leading up to the event, Student Council and First Ring leaders distributed surveys to gather ideas directly from the student body. As a result, the highlight of the day was a much-anticipated Tug-of-War Tournament, designed and implemented by students based on the feedback they received.
The tournament was structured as a best-of-three competition. The Class of 2025 first faced off against the Class of 2028, claiming victory and advancing. Meanwhile, the Class of 2026 battled the Class of 2027, with 2026 moving on to the finals. The championship round between the Classes of 2025 and 2026 brought the gym to a roar, with the Class of 2026 ultimately taking the win — and earning the coveted Class Championship Belt.
The excitement didn’t stop there. In a special bonus match, the newly crowned champions from 2026 took on Mr. Russell and a determined team of EHS teachers. In a hard-fought and thrilling contest, the teachers managed to topple the student champions, sending a wave of cheers through the crowd.
Following Tug-of-War, students competed in an equally energetic game of Musical Chairs. Twenty-one contestants, including Mr. Russell himself, circled the chairs to music produced by students from the CTE Music Engineering class under the direction of Mr. Shawn Haynes. With each pause of the music, the competition grew more intense, culminating in one student claiming the final chair and being crowned Musical Chairs Champion.
The Spring Pep Rally was more than just fun and games — it was a powerful example of how Euclid High School is committed to empowering students to take the lead in shaping their school experiences. Through careful planning, creative thinking, and collaboration, our Student Council and First Ring Leadership Team once again showed what’s possible when students have a voice.
