College Entrance Exams
ACT/SAT Information
Any student planning to attend a 4-year College or University must have either an ACT or SAT score for admission (*this has changed temporarily during COVID - many schools are waiving this requirement for entrance, but still using test scores to determine scholarship eligibility). Many 2-year and Community Colleges do not require a test score for admission but will use one if available, for placement.
All Euclid High School students will take the SAT in the spring of their junior year. This test is provided by the State of Ohio and is free of charge and offered during a school day in March. This test can be used for college admission applications.
All schools will accept either the SAT or the ACT or both. Schools will always look to the student’s best test score, so it is encouraged that students wishing to attend a college or university plan to take the ACT/SAT at least two times.
All ACT/SAT exams are given on Saturdays. Euclid High School hosts the ACT/SAT six times throughout each school year.
Students must create an account and register online for these exams:
All Euclid High School students qualify for a free/reduced lunch and are therefore eligible to receive a Fee Waiver for the exam. Fee Waivers are provided by Mrs. Gonakis (kgonakis@euclidschools.org) and can be requested by submitting the Fee Waiver Request Form.
Fee Waivers can be used for Saturday testing. Each student is eligible for 2 fee waivers for each exam (2 for the ACT and 2 for the SAT). Once eligible fee waivers are used, students must pay for the exam out of pocket.
