Dr. Hans Pesch, Stephen F. Kirk , and Sandra Granger (Mother of Cameron A. Granger) Inductees into the 2025  Euclid Schools Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, Euclid High School proudly welcomed a new class into its Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame, honoring outstanding alumni and contributors whose achievements have left a lasting mark in their fields and our community. The ceremony, hosted at Euclid High School, brought together students, staff, alumni, families, and community partners in a celebration of excellence, legacy, and Panther Pride.

Following a reception, guests gathered in the E-Room for the official program, where welcoming remarks were delivered by Superintendent Christopher Papouras and Euclid Schools Foundation President Anthony Basalla. The evening honored not only new inductees but also exceptional educators and community leaders who have shaped the lives of countless Euclid students.

This year’s Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame inductees represent the very best of what it means to be a Euclid graduate:

  • Cameron A. Granger (Class of 2012): A nationally recognized artist and filmmaker, whose works have been exhibited at MoMA PS1 and around the world. Cameron was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and continues to elevate storytelling through visual media.

  • Stephen F. Kirk (Class of 1967): Former Chief Operating Officer of Lubrizol and a passionate mentor to future business leaders through his work at Cleveland State University and various Fortune 500 company boards.

  • Geraldine Marie Adamich Laufer (Class of 1968): A renowned horticulturalist, educator, and author, Geri has blended science, storytelling, and garden design into a celebrated career that includes award-winning publications and leadership in botanical institutions.

  • Anne McNelis (Class of 1983): A retired NASA aerospace engineer and national expert in rocket environments, Anne contributed to mission success for numerous spaceflight programs, including the International Space Station.

  • Mark McNelis (Class of 1981): A senior technologist at NASA Glenn Research Center, Mark’s decades of work in spacecraft acoustics and vibration analysis have been critical to space exploration projects, including SpaceX Dragon 2 and Orion.

  • Carol Webb (Class of 1964): A trailblazer in medical marketing and executive leadership, Carol’s work with Johnson & Johnson and advocacy in healthcare organizations have earned her international recognition and numerous prestigious awards.

In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions, Euclid High School was proud to present the Joseph P. Mayer Community Engagement Award to Camille Johnson, a dedicated parent, volunteer, and substitute teacher whose selfless contributions have strengthened the Euclid Schools community for over two decades.

The evening also featured the inaugural presentation of the Outstanding Teaching Awards, recognizing educators who have profoundly impacted generations of students. This year’s honorees included:

  • Lucille Aingworth (Shore and Euclid High Schools, early 1900s)

  • Millie Eby (Euclid Schools, early 1900s)

  • Judy Carmody (Euclid High School English Department, 1967–1997)

  • Dr. Hans Pesch (Science Teacher and Administrator)

Their legacies serve as reminders that the foundation of a strong community begins in the classroom.

The Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame Selection Committee, made up of alumni, educators, and administrators, undertook the important task of identifying this year’s honorees. Their work ensures that the extraordinary stories of Euclid High School’s alumni and educators are preserved and celebrated for generations to come.
