Ten exceptional students from Euclid High School recently attended the SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference in Columbus, Ohio. Accompanied by Mr. Nick Selvaggio, SkillsUSA State Advisor and EHS Lead Advisor, and Ms. Kayla Hunt, SkillsUSA Ohio Member and CTE Counselor, these students demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment to their school and community.
Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders
The SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference is a premier event designed to train emerging leaders, offering them insights into how SkillsUSA transforms classrooms and empowers students for future success. The event featured dynamic sessions, industry-led workshops, and hands-on opportunities for participants to refine their skills and expand their networks.
Three Tracks for Leadership Development
1. Student Leaders:
Saveera Milliner participated in the Student Leader track, attending sessions led by industry professionals. These sessions explored employment opportunities and strategies for achieving success both inside and outside the classroom.
2. Voting Delegates:
Jazlyn Marsh, Amira Burgan, Jasmine McFadden, and Markera Powell served as Voting Delegates. They engaged in a robust election process, listening to 50 candidate speeches and voting in two rounds to elect Northeast Ohio Regional Officers.
3. Regional Officer Candidates:
Skylar Laws, Skyler Wells, R’riel Hall, Marianna Gray, and Javin Jackson showcased their leadership skills by campaigning for regional office. Their dedication to SkillsUSA was evident in their presentations and commitment to the organization’s mission.
Earning Statesman Awards
All ten students proudly earned the prestigious Statesman Award, a recognition that highlights their completion of essential leadership sessions. These sessions included chapter development strategies, the new program of work, and workshops led by business and industry professionals.
Euclid High School is incredibly proud of these students for their leadership, dedication, and excellence at such a prestigious event. Their success is a testament to the strength of the school’s SkillsUSA chapter and the supportive educators who help students achieve their goals.
