Euclid High School NJROTC at local elementary  school for Veterans Day

On November 11, 2024, Euclid City Schools commemorated Veterans Day with a series of moving tributes that celebrated the service and sacrifices of our nation’s veterans. The day featured performances and presentations from the Euclid NJROTC Color Guard, the Euclid High School Band, and the vocal ensemble Forte, culminating in a memorable ceremony at Euclid City Hall.

The day began with the NJROTC Color Guard traveling to Chardon Hills Elementary and Bluestone Elementary to present the colors. At Chardon Hills, the event included a stirring speech by one of the NJROTC cadets, who serves as the program's Company Officer. The cadet’s heartfelt words reflected on the significance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces. This moment set the tone for a day of reverence and gratitude.

The day's highlight occurred at Euclid City Hall, where all groups came together to deliver an unforgettable tribute. The Euclid High School Band performed a medley of the Armed Services songs, inviting veterans in attendance to stand and salute as their branch’s anthem played. This powerful and unifying moment drew admiration from the audience.

Adding to the ceremony’s emotional impact, Euclid High School’s Forte delivered breathtaking renditions of God Bless America and The Star-Spangled Banner, showcasing the incredible talent of Euclid’s student performers.

The NJROTC Color Guard once again presented the colors with precision and respect, continuing their role as central figures in the day’s tributes.

Andrew Kiral, the master of ceremonies at City Hall, praised the students’ contributions, stating, “I heard nothing but positive comments about the student participation. As in the past, they were the highlights of the program.”

Euclid City Schools is immensely proud of the NJROTC cadets and high school performers for their dedication and excellence during these Veterans Day ceremonies. Their efforts honored our veterans and demonstrated the values of respect, service, and community central to our district.
