On Tuesday, October 22, Mrs. Pollack’s Children’s Literature class from Euclid High School visited the Euclid Learning Village (ELV) to spend time with Mrs. Kavulich’s preschool class. The high school students paired with preschoolers to read books and work on crafts, creating a heartwarming connection between the two groups. This collaborative visit is part of a larger initiative to see the Children’s Literature class engaging with all four preschool classes at ELV throughout the second quarter.
The High School Students were thrilled with the opportunity. When asked about the experience, they eagerly shared their enthusiasm:
“It was a great experience!”
“We loved them!”
“We want to go back!”
“Those are OUR kids!”
The students’ excitement reflects the meaningful bonds they are forming with their young buddies. The program aims to foster a love of reading and creativity in preschoolers while providing high school students with the rewarding experience of mentoring and connecting with younger children.
The high schoolers are already looking forward to their next visit. They are eager to build on the relationships they’ve begun and continue to positively impact our youngest learners’ lives.
