This week, former Euclid Schools Librarian Marge Lucas and the International Reading Association stopped by Euclid Middle School to honor 8th grader Bradley Crenshaw for his literary works The Gray Flower, Do you Know What I Am, and The Bully Next Door

Bradley’s books have been published and picked up by Barnes and Noble for students around the world to read his stories, with The Bully Next Door just recently being placed on the Barnes and Noble website.

On Wednesday, Ms. Lucas joined Team Vikings to celebrate Bradley and his accomplishments. During the celebration, she, on behalf of the International Reading Association presented Bradley with Designing Victory: A Memoir by Robert P. Madison with Carlo Wolff.

Designing Victory is the story of Robert P. Madison, an architect, entrepreneur, and civic leader from Cleveland. After serving in WWII and earning architecture degrees from Western Reserve University and Harvard University, Madison opened the first African-American architectural firm in Ohio, eventually helping to design the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“I’m really proud of Bradley and all of his accomplishments,” Superintendent Chris Papouras said. “We’re going to make sure that all of Bradley’s books are in all of our libraries.”
